BIRD
What is bird ?
Birds are the only animals with feathers. They all have wings and most can fly. Birds are vertebrates. They are warm-blooded, which means their bodies stay at about the same temperature , whatever the weather. Young birds hatch from eggs, and adult birds often build a nest to keep the eggs and babies safe. Birds live in every part of the world in forests, deserts, cities, oceans, marshlands, and on mountaintops.
Beaks and their functions
Birds have no teeth. Instead they have hard bills, or beaks, which are shaped to suit particular jobs.
Wing
Birds' wings are specially shaped for certain kinds of flying. Birds with long, pointed, wings are fast flyers, while forest birds have short wings for dodging through trees.
Feet
Swimming birds have webbed feet, which act like paddles, pushing them through the water. Birds that climb tree trunks have toes which help them to grip. Some birds have very sharp claws or talons, which they use to catch prey.
